IQNA – An Iranian analyst said the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against two Israeli officials are a historic turning point in the international arena.

Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant

Speaking to IQNA, Masoumeh Nasiri referred to the ICC’s move against Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant and said the court cites convincing evidence to accuse the two of committing war crimes

They have committed crimes like using starvation as a method of warfare, crimes against humanity, murder, and other inhumane acts, she noted.

What matters is the ruling itself, which has been unprecedented and can be considered a turning point in the history of international ties, she added.

Nasiri stressed that whatever has been cited against the two Zionist officials can be pursued one by one.

The possibility that the two criminals can be arrested in different countries is another important point, she stated.

She underlined that Muslim countries should pursue the case against Netanyahu and Gallant till the end so that they are detained and prosecuted so that nowhere in the world will be a safe haven for criminals like them.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, for one, has sought the immediate and full implementation of the ICC ruling and welcomes any step that would lead to upholding justice and ending the Israeli regime’s impunity, she stated.

The expert also said that the ruling has struck fear into the hearts of Israeli officials and made the world insecure for them.

She went on to say that countries should also call for the expulsion of the Tel Aviv regime from international circles and disinvite Israeli officials from sports, cultural, artistic, and academic events.

The ICC judges said on Thursday that there were “reasonable grounds” to believe Netanyahu and Gallant “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival.”

The court also said the men bore “criminal responsibility” for war crimes and crimes against humanity during the bloody onslaught on Gaza.

The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which began in October last year, has killed more than 44,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured many more.
